You can't operate in a vacuum!
No matter how much you spend on advertising, you can't beat a word-of-mouth referral. It comes down to that old saying 'It's not what you know, but who you know that counts'.
In the 21st century, savvy businesses have come to appreciate the value of a good business network. Of course, operating efficiently and ethically comes first, but once you have the solid basics in place, the best way to spread the word is to let others who value what you do, do it for you.
In Penrith, we encourage our clients to join the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce or at least attend a Chamber function to see what it's all about. With approximately 500 business memberships, the PVCC is a great place to begin creating a presence, and also finding out who can help you with the things that you can't do yourself.

In the Blue Mountains, many of the local villages have their own chambers of commerce, or you could consider joining Biznet, the regional chamber of commerce for Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon.
You could also consider joining one of the local branches of the well established business referral groups such as Business Network International or The Business Referral Group.
